Captain Rolf Wittmer is the first man whose birth on Floreana Island has been historically documented. He was born in January 1933, a few months after his parents, Margret and Heinz Wittmer ended a long trip from Germany to the island of Floreana.

2022 marks the 40th Anniversary of Rolf Wittmer Turismo. Our Company roots date back nearly 53 years. In 1969, our founder Rolf Wittmer started his family business in the travel and tourism industry in the Galapagos Islands. He began organizing the first cruises around the Galapagos Islands with the iconic sailboat Tip Top I.
